Maria…

Maria is, and always has been an artist. I used to get so mad at her that she went and got a pesky tech job when she clearly had more artistic talent in her little finger(s) than most people can even dream of, but I finally made my peace with her choices because we still got to experience her stunning creativity through her cakes. Not only has she been making masterpieces that taste like heaven, she does it for the love of it which comes through in every exquisite bite. The stacked Indian Pillow creation she made for our wedding in Mexico was so good that the morning after, when we woke up to find that feral cats had discovered the leftover cake, we shoo'd them away, cut the bit off that they'd been eating, and finished the rest. Maria's art is the kind that literally fuels you, body and soul, and we're all richer for having experienced it.
